What better way to kickoff closing weekend of the Ottawa Fringe Festival than with a spotlight on the Festival’s executive director:
Natalie Joy Quesnel!
Nat will tell us some stories, and we’ll morph those tales into sculptures of the mind… on the stage… or something like that.
The Bio (stolen from the web)
Natalie’s recent directing credits include Without a Clue (Enigma/Garkin Productions), Life up on the Wicked Stage (Zucchini Grotto), The Churchill Protocol (Gruppo Rubato), John and Libérés sur paroles (Théâtre du Trillium), ICARUS and 52 Pick-up (Enigma Productions), Mouchoir de nuages (University of Ottawa), Betrayal (Third Wall Theatre Co.) and Cloud 9 (Algonquin College Theatre). She was nominated by the Capital Critics’ Awards for Best Director and Best Production (Betrayal, Third Wall Theatre Co.) and by the Rideau Awards for Best Director and Best Emerging Artist. She has had the pleasure of assistant directing for The Real Thing (NAC/Soulpepper Theatre), Mary’s Wedding (NAC), Testament du couturier and L’Hôtel (Théâtre la Catapulte) and 7 Péchés capitaux (Vox Théâtre). Natalie recently obtained her MFA in Directing for the Theatre from the University of Ottawa. Rounding out her busy days, Natalie also enjoys being a choreographer, production manager, administrator, media rep, General Manager for the Ottawa Fringe Festival, and mom.
Find Nat looking busy around the Fringe Beer Tent (hey, that’s right across the street from our venue!). If you see her, let her know how amazing the Ottawa Fringe is and how great she looks… you know, tell her the truth!
