Spotlight On: John P. Kelly!

Spotlight On… began as a show at the 2011 Ottawa Fringe Festival and won Crush the Best Ensemble award! The show features a new guest monologist (someone who tells monologues) every night and that person, inspired by a suggestion from the audience, tells short stories from their real life. Crush then improvises scenes based on those true-life tales, and once the scenes wander a little too far from the original story, the focus goes back to our guest and we hear another anecdote which inspires more scenes.

This Month’s guest is John P. Kelly!

Since 2005, John P. Kelly has produced and directed somewhere around 20 plays; a lot of them Irish, but he has also helmed the French farce “A Flea in Her Ear”, the Scottish melodrama “Iron”, and Englishman Patrick Barlow’s stage adaptation of “The 39 Steps.”

We’re thrilled to have this dynamic Irishman in the big comfy chair on Monday, March 11th as John P. Kelly joins us as guest monologist for this month’s installment of “Spotlight On…” at the Gladstone Theatre.

Monday, March 11 – Gladstone Theatre – Doors: 7pm – Show: 8pm – $10 – All Ages
